Get the BeOS kernel for Intel Pentium IV processors (p4kBeOS.zip) from http://www.beos.ru/files/p4kBeOS.zip or BeShare.

This is a special kernel for Radeon and with fix for Pentium 4.
NB!!! It requires BeOS R5.0.3 or R5.0.4
Installation:
1. Unzip it to /system/kernel_intel_alt
2. copy /system/kernel_intel.patch to /system/kernel_intel_alt.patch
3. Reboot and press 'space' button after BeOS partition menu to get
BeOS Boot Loader menu.
4. Choose "Select new boot volume" and choose
"XXXXXX (kernel_intel_alt)"
You have to do that during each boot to use the new special kernel.
You can just replace the original /system/kernel_intel.

Это специальное ядро для P4 и Радеон.
для работы нужен МИНИМУМ BeOS 5.03
Инсталляция:
1. Раззипуй в /system/kernel_intel_alt
2. Скопируй /system/kernel_intel.patch в /system/kernel_intel_alt.patch
3. Перезагрузись и нажми пробел в самом начале загрузки чтобы выйти в меню, позволяющее выбрать том для загрузки ( BeOS Boot Loader menu).
4. Войди в раздел "Select new boot volume" и выбери
"XXXXXX (kernel_intel_alt)"
Если все будет работать успешно после тщательной проверки - можно просто заменить потом оригинальный /system/kernel_intel (переименовав его например в kernel_intel_old, а новый в просто kernel_intel).
Does anyone know if this works for systems without a Radeon graphics card? Is the patch particular about whether your Pentium IV has Hyperthreading or not? How does this patch compare with cpu_fix?
This didn’t work on my Toshiba Satellite P25-S526.
I suspect that this patch is for first model P4's with rambus memory. Most newer P4's run with only a safe mode "don't call bios" option.
