When streaming video there are opportunities for handling problems such as limited bandwidth by dropping video frames. B-frames can be dropped straightforwardly, for example. Choosing which frames to drop is an issue when there are multiple B-frames in a row. This pdf makes some suggestions on how to approach this problem.
