Currently there are the following versions that I have personally seen or have heard people mention:
- Pre 1.0 build - reports to be 4.5.2, but I beleive this is a hang over from the BeOS version. Pre numbering of BeIA.
- 1.0 beta 9 (uncrushed binaries are compatible with Release Candidate)
- 1.0 Release Candidate (circa the clipper)
- 1.0 (question, does this exist?)
- 2.0 (the version Dano seems to have been aimed at.)
Note: I have a Proview iPAD PI-520B that on the (correction)animated logo lists it as BeIA 1.0. The date on the system is Feb. 14, 2001. FileTypes is installed but not 'quite' working by default, and nowhere have I found a 'definate' version listed other than Tracker being listed as DR10. I am going thru the filesystem to see what info I can gather, but it isn't much so far. The version on the iPad has BONE and a few other things I've seen nowhere else. I have another imagefile that has net_server and other items the iPad image doesn't have.

You have to be careful about this... There were a number of Beta and Pre- releases of BeIA 1.0 that claim to BeIA 1.0 as they boot, but on closer inspection ("get info" on the executables or use FileTypes if it's installed) they are actually anything from BeIA 1.0 beta X (Where X = version number, e.g "beta 8") or the 1.0 RC (Release Candidate). I have never actually seen a BeIA 1.0 *release* executable. However, maybe Be just got lazy/had a lack of resources/lack of time to update the info. In any case, the animated logo always says BeIA 1.0. If you *don't* have the Logo, now *that* is an old BeIA build (or a Desktop build if you have any kind of splash screen)
